Ryan Cheung, founder and owner of Saturn Los Angeles

From the founder

Timeless, elevated climbing streetwear that stays in your wardrobe forever.

Saturn is my brand, and this is me. I started it in Los Angeles in 2021, while I was still in high school, and I still run it today.

The name comes from Saturn, the Roman god of time, and that is the bar for every piece: timeless, elevated climbing streetwear that stays in your wardrobe forever. I pull from the myths I read as a kid, the climbing and streetwear I live in now, and the technical performance I want next.

Past, present and future, in every piece. That has been the idea since day one.

The idea

Past, present, future.

Every Saturn piece pulls from three places at once. That is the whole brief, in Ryan's own words.

Past

Forgotten historical art and myths.

The she-wolf, the Titans, Icarus, the Discobolus. Old stories, drawn by hand, printed on heavyweight cotton.

Present

Rock climbing and LA/Asian fashion.

Cut for the wall, worn in the city. Boxy tees, pleated climb pants, knits you can actually move in.

Future

Outer space and technical performance.

Function stated plainly: fabric weight, fit and construction do the talking.

Off the screen

Out in the world.

Pop-ups, stockists on two continents, and the people who climb in it. The next pop-up is announced on Instagram first.
